The saying goes that “necessity is the mother of all inventions.” So I asked myself, “Who’s the father?” Why am I pondering this question? It’s due completely to my updating this site. I’m trying my best to put forth the least effort and get the best results. I want to change some entries and add some new ones in the index which is composed entirely of PNG graphics. You’ve probably noted that from prior visits. If you’re a newcomer, just ignore this little rant. Anyway, the problem is this. Everytime I want to add an entirely new entry, I had to fire up GIMP and go through some very painful steps to make what I think are pretty cool faux 3-d transparency and shade effects on the texts. I may think it’s a cool effect, but what’s not cool is how tedious an ordeal it is. So, I called upon the father of all inventions, indolence. In other words, I took the easiest and laziest route by throwing away the graphics in the menu and completely redid it in HTML code. The new effect which has taken the place of the old are in my opinion just as dynamic as before but not cumbersome at all. Now, I have more time to be even lazier than I already am.
So, after it’s all been said, I hope you like the new look.
