We tend to give credit entirely to the the person who are successful in their career and their lives. We often forget that it has as much to do with the support of family, friends and co-workers as it does with their own hard-work and initiative.
Take my career for example. It was my parent’s support that helped me to get through college. There were times when I felt overwhelmed and inadequate. My parents being who they were couldn’t do much to help my situation beyond encouragements and cajoles. As small as those things seem, it was just that push that kept me going. Following college, there were hosts of mentors whose patience with me and my attendant personality was humbling and something to be admired. In addition to helping me in my career technically, they also gave me opportunities to grow socially. Though the latter has developed more slowly than I would have liked.
To all those whose support I’ve counted on, much of my success as a person can be directly attributed to you. Thank you.
